This is the tomb and the two funeral monuments above it which ʿbdʿbdt the governor made for ʾytybl the governor, his father, and for ʾytybl the camp commandant who is in Lḥytw and ʿbrtʾ son of the said ʿbdʿbdt the governor, in the territory of their rule, which they exercised twice for thirty-six years during the time of Ḥrtt king of the Nabataeans, lover of his people. And the above work was executed in his forty-sixth year
The reading of the text being perfectly clear, the apparatus criticus is not detailed here. The reading provided above is the one that is given in HNTI. Besides, only the main editions and commentaries are listed in the relevant section of the record.
Two almost identical copies of this inscription exist, one in the Vatican Museums and one in the Louvre. The only difference between the two is that the word ʿlʾ at the end of the first line of the Louvre text appears at the beginning of the second line in the Vatican Museums text (where the word is also more clearly preserved, as recorded here).
The CIS, Cantineau (CN), Cooke (CTB) reproduced the Vatican version while the Répertoire (RES) reproduced the Louvre version.
