Basalt funerary stele.
Found in a street in Buṣrā, ‘in front of the door of a house, where the stele had been placed among other blocks of the same shape and nature, intended to cover some new construction’. Its exact provenance is therefore unknown. Seen in 1955 as a replacement in a Muslim tomb in the cemetery of the al-Mabrak mosque (latex squeeze, photos and copies). Not reviewed by L. Nehmé in 2002.
Stele 1.20 m high and 0.30 m wide. Average height of the letters 10 cm.
